Elphin diocese fund for sick and retired priests collection: Our annual collection for the Sick Priests Fund takes place next weekend 2nd / 3rd August. The priests of the diocese already contribute, out of their own income, most of what is required to support our sick and retired priests. However, the high age profile of our clergy in recent years has placed significant demands on the fund. Please be as generous as your circumstances allow. Given that there are ten such priests to be supported, a donation of €10 would seem appropriate but whatever you can afford will be greatly appreciated. Please use the special envelope in your box of envelopes for this purpose or alternatively place your donation in an envelope marked Sick and Retired Priests Fund and place in the collection basket. Sincere thanks and blessings for your kind generosity.

Elphin diocesan pilgrimage to Knock: led by Bishop Kevin Doran takes place on Sunday the 17th August, 2014. The ceremonies commence at 2.30 pm with the anointing of the sick in the Basilica followed by Mass, Blessed Sacrament and Rosary Procession at 3.00 pm. Please join us for this special occasion

Special Notice – Fr. Michael Joyce SVD Golden Jubilee

18.06.1964 - 18.06.2014

We congratulate Fr. Joyce as he celebrates the 50th Anniversary of his Ordination on Wednesday 18th June.  We thank the Lord for all his blessings, for the life of Fr. Michael Joyce, and for Fr. Michael’s dedication and faithful service to this and many other communities.

To mark this very special occasion there will be a presentation during 10:30 Mass on Sunday 22nd June.  Fr. Joyce has asked that there be no function or event or any money collected from the people of the parish.  However, if anyone wishes to do so, they can give a Mass donation to him.

It is hoped that as many people as possible will attend this very special occasion.
