Meeting of Kilbegnet & Glinsk Pastoral Councils:  On Tuesday evening, 26th August, at 8.00 p.m., there will be a joint meeting of the Kilbegnet and Glinsk Pastoral Councils in Kilbegnet.  Please send in any agenda items for this meeting to Fr. John Mc Carthy as soon as possible.  

    Pastoral Council Questionnaire:  Please return this questionnaire to Fr. John Mc Carthy by Thursday, 21st August.  Thanks. Coffee Morning: Gail Clarke and friends are holding their annual coffee morning in Glenamaddy Community centre on Friday Aug 22nd from 10.30am to 2.30pm in aid of cancer care. This year, all proceeds will go to the oncology ward in Galway regional hospital. Please support this worthy cause. 

The Irish Society for Autism are holding their Annual Church Gate collection in Glinsk on this Sunday, 17th August. Please support.

Glinsk gathering meeting: A meeting will be held on Thursday night next in the community centre at 9pm to organise the gathering week-end.  All who can help on the day of the sports are invited to please attend this meeting. All are welcome.


Glinsk sports: As part of the Glinsk gathering week-end an open sports will be held on Sunday 24th August in the GAA field.  This is planned as a great fun day out for all the family.  Events start with a fancy dress parade at 1:30pm. Categories include most original, most topical and funniest. Lots of races for tiny tots to seniors. Sack races, 3-legged races etc. There will be fun for all ages with lots of novelty events including face painting, fortune telling, throwing the sheaf etc. Admission: €5 for adults; children - free.


Research your family history: A talk will be given in the hall of Glinsk NS on Wednesday night 27th August (7-9pm) by Clare Doyle, heritage resource manager. It will be a great opportunity to learn about records you can examine, if you would like to research your family history.


Pioneer Association: Meeting after 10 o’clock Mass on Sunday August 24th. All committee members please attend.

 Sheepdog Trials: The Devenish Nutrition International Sheepdog Trials 2014 take place in Kilbegnet, Creggs from September 12-14. Teams from Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales will compete over three days, culminating in the Supreme Champion event on Sunday afternoon. 20,000 visitors are expected to attend the event over the course of the three days, including many international visitors. If you would like to take a trade stand, advertise in the programme, or if you have available accommodation, please contact Event Secretary Mary Hopkins on 087 6116376.

Mass Time: Note that the Glinsk Sunday Mass will be at 10.00am starting next Sunday 3rd August. This is to make it possible for the priest to take both the Kilbegnet and Glinsk Masses.
