 Glinsk Community Council came 1st in their Category  for Community development ,receiving prize funding of 2,000 for their Glinsk beyond 2000 Community  Development Plan

Award to Glinsk Community Council for the outstanding success of their annual song contest, a cult event that celebrates contemporary song writing. combining an enthusiastic response with quality presentation and selection, The song Contest has become one of the moste eagerley antiicipated happenings in Rural Galway

NUI Enviromental  

Dr Mike Gormley and NUI final year environmental students presenting their  their environmental plan for Glinsk Heritage Park - in appreciation of their work Glinsk Community council invited them back in March 2002 for the planting of trees in the Glinsk Heritage park, as a mark of remembrance of their contribution to this project.

2001 Year of the Volunteer

They year 2001 was set aside as year to promote awareness of the work of many people with various groups and organisations who contribute to their communities and try to improve the quality of life.

Glinsk on December 5th 2001 made a surprise presentation to Martin Ward secretary of Glinsk Community Council for his outstanding contribution to the Community
