Annual Mid-Summer Walking Festival 2003 is
the... Next Year Donncha O'Dulaing will recreate the epic march of O'Sullivan Beara 400 years ago. To commemorate this epic March The 2003 Glinsk Walking Festival will be retracing the footsteps of O'Sullivan Beara from Cregg to Glinsk Castle on the new Burke Marked Walk Way Window to the Past
On your arrival at Glinsk Castle we hope to offer a more joyous welcome then was received by O'Sullivan, Our " window to the past" will see an re-enactment in a "day in the life" of Glinsk Castle 400 years ago- from battles, tool-making and cooking displays.
The O'Sullivan Beara Route
This famous route is being developed as a Waymarked Way for walking, cycling, heritage and clans. Seventy community groups in every town and village on the route have decided to run a chain of festivals throughout the summer of 2003. |
